Tiffaney Boyd

Leadership on campus: In ASI, Boyd was the CHABSS representative in 2013/14, the Vice President of Operations in 2014/15 and is currently President. In 2013/14, she was an RA at the UVA. She was the Lambda Pi Eta President in 2014/15, is a Peer Mentor and a Tukwut Leadership Circle graduate.

Goals as a leader: “To continue increasing awareness and visibility of ASI, advocate for the development of an ethnic [studies] department/major and heighten awareness of food insecurity on campus and advocate for the need of a food pantry. Future goals … to travel to Rome … get involved with a non-profit and apply for [law/graduate school].”

Major: Double major in communication and social sciences

Expected graduation term: Spring 2016

Other involvement: Pre-Law Society and Black Student Union

Noteworthy accomplishments: 3.8 GPA, first in family to go to a four-year university, won Top Undergraduate Paper award from the 2015 National Communication Association, co-wrote a resolution advocating for the creation of a black resource center, wrote a solidarity resolution for CFA’s Fight for Five
