Make delicious and nutritious snacks this finals week

The end of the semester is near and classes are beginning to speed up, suddenly 10, 10-page papers are all due the same week. This can only mean one thing, finals week is here. While you are busy studying and preparing for exams do not forget to feed your body. Student’s brains are working overtime during finals week, which means keeping your body full is a necessity. It’s important to have easy and nutritious snacks on hand to eat throughout the day. Thanks to Pintrest, I will provide recipes that are easy to make and sure to keep your mind focused on all your assignments.

The first snack is a Peanut Butter and Honey Banana Roll Up. Its name is very descriptive and alludes to the ingredients used. For this snack you will need:

1 whole-wheat flatbread wrap

1 tablespoon of peanut butter

½  banana

½ tablespoon of honey

Begin by spreading the peanut butter onto the flat bread. Next, cut the banana into circles and evenly distribute them on top of the peanut butter. Drizzle the honey over the flat bread, roll it up and enjoy.

The next snack is called an Almond Butter and Banana Open Sandwich and it’s easier to make than the first.  All you need is:

1 banana

2 tablespoons of almond butter

A handful of your favorite nuts or trail mix

Begin by slicing the banana in half and spreading almond butter onto each halve. Next grab the nuts or trail mix and sprinkle its on top of the almond butter. That’s it, now you have a nutritious snack that took less than five minutes to make.

Lastly, we have the Fruit and Yogurt Parfait. What you will need is:

A small mason jar or container

1 cup of Greek Yogurt

1 tablespoon of honey

½ cup of fresh fruit

¼ cup of nuts or granola

Begin by filling your mason jar with fruit. Then add in the yogurt and drizzle honey over it. Top it with your favorite nuts or granola and you’re done.

You now have three simple, delicious and nutritious snacks to get you through finals week. While you’re busy studying don’t forget to provide your body with a healthy snack to fuel your energy.
