On Valentine’s Day, a flash mob dance event took place in front of the Kellogg Library in honor of One Billion Rising.

Sponsored by the Gender Equity Center, One Billion Rising is a campaign to raise awareness about the global problem of violence against women. The program gets its name from the statistic that one in three women on the planet will be raped or beaten in her lifetime.

The event included a booth fair, featuring women’s health and advocacy groups, and red roses were handed out to passers-by in honor of Valentine’s Day.
