The CSUSM Literature and Writing department is sponsoring a graduation party for all literature and writing students on May 15th from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at the Clarke Field House Grand Salon.
Students in the LTWR club along side Professor Heidi Breuer are helping plan the event including choosing a theme for the party.
“Last year the theme of the party was books,” said Professor Breuer. “We decorated the room with different books and at the end of the party we raffled them off.”
Approximately 30 to 50 student’s attended last year’s graduation party.
“It’s a way to thank our students,” said Professor Breuer.
The graduating class is also assembling student’s writing and artwork into a bound commemorative book called a ChapBook. Students can submit any of their own creative writing pieces, artwork, quotations, passages, thank you letters, or a combination of the above. Students must send their submissions in .doc, .dox, or .pdf format to [email protected] by Friday, May 6th. The Chapbooks are free of charge and will be available for pick up at the graduation party.
“The graduation party is an informal way to get together, get free food and celebrate that they’re done,” said Professor Breuer.
The celebration is for all literature and writing majors and minors graduating or not. LTWR students are encouraged to bring their friends and family for a night of fun, food and dancing.
