The Greek Corner: Our alphabet is growing!

Marissa Mcshane, Student Life Reporter

Not only is it an honor to be part of a sorority or fraternity, but it is even better to be a founder. CSUSM is welcoming three new chapters to our campus: Alpha Kappa Delta Phi, Omega Psi Phi and Delta Zeta. Some details on each chapter can be found on their individual websites.

Alpha Kappa Delta Phi is an international Asian-interest sorority. They joined our campus in spring of 2015 and achieved the highest GPA in the fraternity/sorority community. Their first semester on campus the chapter accumulatively received a 3.27 GPA. They strive for greatness and would love to have you join them. For more information you can go to http://www.akdphi.org/about/generalInfo.html.

Omega Psi Phi is a fraternity that is joining our campus this semester, Fall 2015. They pride themselves on being the first international fraternity organization to be founded on the campus of a historically black college. Omega Psi Phi’s website is http://www.omegapsiphifraternity.org/about_omega.asp for more information on their historical achievements and future goals as a fraternity here at San Marcos.

Delta Zeta is a sorority joining our campus this semester and have many scheduled informational sessions to learn more about their organization. If you are interested in being a Delta Zeta founder for the CSUSM chapter, go to any of the informational meetings to show interest.

The dates of these meetings include:

2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 15 at USU 3700 ASI Suite

3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 at USU 3700 ASI Suite

12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 22 in USU 2310 A and B

3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 24 in USU 3700 ASI Suite

Do not miss out on the opportunity to join any of these organizations as they become a part of CSUSM’s history. On behalf of all other sororities and fraternities on campus already, we welcome them with open arms and cannot wait to see what good they do for our community.
