The Cougar Corner

Lonely Feelings

I Hope you get lonely tonight

The bottles line up

My phone lighting up

Your number flashing, causing memories to surface

The pleasantries start.

“How have you been?”

With familiarity riddled in every line

“Fine, how are your folks?”

Yet also restriction with the space that has grown between us

Both avoiding the same question,

“Are you single?”

Until the space is out down by the loneliness

“I miss you.”

I can repeat it back to you.
