Welcome Back Cougars! 

CSUSM Volleyball got started by participating at the San Diego invite September 5-7. The Cougars got off to a rough start against Simon Fraser losing three sets to one. They didn’t fare much better against Vanguard, losing three sets to none. 

Fortunately, they were able to grab a win against Chadron State, winning three sets to one before finishing the tournament with a three to zero set loss against Point Loma. 

Women’s soccer kicked off their season on September 5, 2024, in a home game against Point Loma. Unfortunately, their first outing ended in a 2-1 loss. Two days later, on the road, the Cougars were able to grab a 1-0 win against Westmont. 

Men’s soccer kicked off their season at home on September 5, 2024, against Colorado Springs. The hard-fought match ended in a 1-1 tie. On September 7, 2024, CSUSM secured their first win against Colorado School of Mines, at home, 2-1. 

On Wednesday September 11, 2024, they added to their wins with a 1-0 win in a home game against Concordia University Irvine. 

Men’s Cross Country placed third at the UCI/CUI Invitational on September 6, with a final score of 2-24. Nick Melanese led the pack with a 25:28.2 time good for a fifth-place finish. 

Women’s Cross Country also participated at the UCI/CUI Irvine Invitational on September 6, 2024. Angela McManus led the way to a sixth-place team after finishing twelfth with a 22:35.9 time.
