If you’ve been in the Big Cat Bistro this semester, you may have see the “Sushi Ladies.” New cafeteria workers Chris Ang and Marindah Thung have been expanding the menu with new varieties such as Tsunami Combo Medium, Eel Rainbow Roll and Spicy Rainbow Roll.
“We make sushi every morning starting at 7 a.m. Monday through Thursday. We have vegetarian sushi, and put together fresh sushi specials for you,” Ang said.
Ang and Thung said they love to make sushi for the students, who they call their “children.” They both say they work best as a pair and enjoy their shifts together.
“Making sushi for the students is like making sushi for our children. And since they are around the same age as my daughter, they are our children. We love the students, they make us happy and they are polite and the faculty and staff are very nice,” Ang said.
Thung also complimented the school’s kitchen facilities.
“The people here are very friendly and it is very clean here, everything is well organized,” Thung said.
