Our Mission
The Cougar Chronicle is dedicated to the education and the enlightenment of students and the campus community. The news section will inform the campus community of news from an objective and truthful point of view, representing every available aspect of an issue or story. The features section will inform and entertain the campus community with articles pertinent to college life. The arts and entertainment section will inform and entertain the campus community with the latest information about arts and events. The opinion section will create a forum for debate for the campus community. As we challenge the institution – administration, faculty and student population — to think carefully about controversial issues, we are dedicated to representing diverse student voices.
The Cougar Chronicle commits itself to uphold professional standards regarding journalism ethics and responsibility. It commits itself to autonomy, uninhibited by undue influence from institutional entities. The Cougar Chronicle, as a 21st-century medium of mass communications, commits itself to technological awareness, advancement and integration.
