Coach’s Corner: Renee Jimenez

Expectations: “I think really for this team it’s teaching them about the CCAA and Division II, and how competitive it is every night…As coaches I think we expect them to be better everyday and practice, and we tell them all the time ‘Try to make a new mistake today’ [in order] to get better each game. So they are picking it up and when they get it they are going to be pretty good, but it’s going to take time to get there.”

Key Players: “I think all the returners have a really good foundation of hard work, and being tough and stuff they have been able to kind of help the new guys that are here just in regards to everything.

“[Senior Brianna Higgins] has played at Division I level and you know she’s very competitive everyday… she’s very consistent in what she does.”
Opponents: “Everyone in the conference is tough, I would tell you that the top 16 in CCAA are capable of winning the conference. So, that makes it extremely competitive…every night you have to bring your A-game if you expect to even be in a game and win the game at that…We are kind of our biggest competition, you know that is kind of what we are doing everyday… we compete winning against ourselves and how are we today compared to yesterday.”
