Hundreds of students gathered for the unique opportunity to present their personal ideas and research to a broad audience.

The Student Poster Showcase was held Dec. 1 in the USU Ballroom and introduced new, intricate designs created by CSUSM students.

The work was presented on traditional and digital posters, allowing participants to show their originality as well as creativity. Subjects of research included Genomics, Psychology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Biotechnology, Sociology and others.

These academic posters allowed presenters to communicate and introduce their research in an effective way as it provided visual information for the audience. For students who participated, the showcase was an event to add to their resume, as they had a chance to display their work and accumulative research in a public exhibition.

“This experience helped me grow academically in the sense that I got to practice presenting in front of others in an accepting environment,” said participating student, Jamie West. “It allowed me to collaborate with my lab partner and advisors and show others what we found within our research.”

The showcase was co-sponsored by the CSUSM Office of Graduate Studies & Research and the Committee for Undergraduate Research to support student creative activity and growing student research at CSUSM.
