Money is always a big issue for most college students these days. So, it’s no question that people are doing what they can to earn the extra buck. Many, including myself, will be searching for jobs over the summer to get the extra cash for the following semester, gas or other necessities. We worked during the semester in and outside of class, but it’s important to remember to have a summer “vacation.” Even if you don’t plan on going on any trips, just taking the time to relax at home is a good idea. It’s easy to grow accustomed to working hard once you start. Ironically, it’s then difficult to find time to relax. Maybe summer’s the time to get started on that reading list you put off. Or visit/chat with the friends you don’t get to see during the semester. It’s time to pick up hobbies that were sacrificed for studying. It’s time to make plans with friends or to have spontaneous fun. Unlike winter break, summer is a slow season, so catching up on things and with people is a common activity. If your schedule looks packed this summer, try to organize for time to stop and breathe. Remember that it is okay to relax every now and then. You made it through another semester and you deserve it.
