Most people dream of a magical experience, especially that of Harry Potter.

I was lucky enough to spend a day at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios, Hollywood for my 22nd birthday this past summer. The magic was real when entering Hogsmeade and seeing Hogwarts Castle for the first time in person. I will never forget the experience.

When entering The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I truly felt as if I was stepping into the movies/books. With the music from the movie series playing everywhere you go, witches and wizards dressed in robes from each House at Hogwarts and the chance to try butterbeer and pumpkin juice.

My favorite part of Harry Potter World was definitely the shops. Growing up with the movies and books, there were always places from the series that I wanted as my own. Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans, pumpkin juice, chocolate cauldrons and, of course, the infamous chocolate frogs, were among the merchandise anyone could purchase in the HoneyDukes candy store.

I got the chance to ride a magical creature in the Flight of the Hippogriff, which is located right in front of Hogwarts Castle. My favorite part of the ride was the replica version of Hagrid’s hut which you could see while waiting in line for the ride.

Hagrid is definitely my favorite character. He is a kind giant who enjoys the company of magical creatures such as his Hippogriff and if I were a witch, I would want to own my own magical creatures as well..

Though I enjoyed all these aspects of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the one thing I enjoyed the most was seeing my boyfriend’s face light up entering this world. He has such a love for the Harry Potter series and for him to experience it for the first time was magical all on its own.
All in all, my favorite part of this summer was the magical experience we shared together.
