DISSECTING “BLACK SWAN”

SURYA QUINONES
STAFF WRITER

The Women’s Center will be showing “Black Swan” today, Feb. 28 to discuss how women are perceived in today’s media.

“Black Swan” will be shown as part of their monthly “Sister Cinema” program. This is their third semester presenting Sister Cinema, in which they provide pizza, drinks and a comfortable set- ting to watch view the movie.

Following the movie, there will be a discussion pertaining to the issues and controversies displayed in the film. Even though the movies presented will depict women’s lives and their struggles, men are more than welcome to join the event.

“Everyone is welcome to the Women’s Center; its purpose is to have a place tohang out and build community,” Community Dialogue Facilitator of the Women’s Center, Alejandra Ramos, said.

Ramos and staff hope that this event will allow more students to find an inclusive space where students can get involved and take advantage of the resources that the Women’s Center has to of- fer, as well as create a community to learn about social justice and becoming allies.
