Based on the bestselling novel, “Life of Pi” this 2012 film adaption was nominated for 11Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director. The films plot focuses on Piscine (Pi) Molitor Patel being the only survivor of a shipwreck, which leaves him stranded in a lifeboat. Along for the ride across the Pacific Ocean is a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. Filled with creative imagery and powerful scenes, “Life of Pi” promises an epic story.
March 12: “Rise of the Guardians”
After the Boogeyman begins spreading fear to the children of the world, the plot of this animated film follows the various legends as they team up to save the children they desperately love. The films’ Guardians comprise of Santa Clause (Alec Baldwin), Jack Frost (Chris Pine), Easter Bunny (Hugh Jackman), the Sandman and the Tooth Fairy (Isla Fisher). This film was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Golden Globes this year and is a movie good for the whole family, no matter what time of year.
March 12: “The Next Day” by David Bowie
David Bowie will be adding a 26th album to his collection with “The Next Day.” The CD is already available for pre-sale on iTunes and the single titled “Where Are We Now?” made top 10 on the music charts when it was released. The 14-song track is made up various styles that any music lover can enjoy. This album comes a decade after his last album, “Reality.”
March 15: “The 20/20 Experience” by Justin Timberlake
After a seven year hiatus, sexy is finally back! After his 2006, third studio album after “Future Sex/Love Sounds,” the former ‘NSYNC front man made the move to RCA Records to record this new album. Performing “Suit and Tie,” “Pusher Love Girl” and “That Girl” at the Grammy Awards a few weeks ago, it is needless to say fans are excited for Timberlake’s return to the music industry. A tour with Jay-Z this summer has also been confirmed starting with more than 10 cities in the United States.
